This is where the children of New York`s power brokers and international industrialists hang out, and it`s so exclusive that there`s not even a sign on the door. Yet it`s still easy to notice this looking glass storefront from the gangs of beauties huddling inside. It gets smoky and loud, but the brief menu holds appeal and most courses are done very well. For hors d`oeuvres, there`s mushroom risotto, and tuna or salmon tartare; for main courses, the menu offers steak tartare with frites, a triangle of tuna au poivre noir, and a juicy Cajun-spiced chicken.
Pupetto is an upscale bistro that offers a French fare. Expect the average entrée to cost roughly $20 to $30, and you`ll be appropriate if dressed casual, but fashionable.
