Polished and pretty with a green exterior and a soothing white interior, this small restaurant excels in presenting northern Italian and Mediterranean fare. Try the goat cheese truffle with roasted peppers and tapenade; marinated quail with plums, frisTe, and pomegranate molasses; or roasted monkfish with porcini, Chianti, and sage. Chef Mario Batali prepares five and six-course tasting menus for $25 and $29 respectively. There`s jazzy music and a pint-sized copper bar with weirdly sculpted copper hands rising behind it. Call ahead for a reservation, even on off-nights.
