New York Times critic Ruth Reichl deemed this attractive restaurant as having the single best steak in the city. The pan-fried potatoes--hash browns, cottage fries, and sliced Lyonnaise potatoes--are also gold m edal wonders. The proud, loyal staff has stuck around for as long as 35 years, and the steady clientele is one that has passed down from generation to generation. They get their share of politicians, celebrities and newspaper people, coming in for solid North Italian fare as well as the steaks. Be sure not to skip the ultra-fresh C`sar.
Offering their guests an Italian menu, this is an upscale restaurant. Expect the average entrée to cost from $20 to $30, and go dressed casual.
Atmosphere: The restaurant has a contemporary décor. This is a white tableclothe restaurant. With seating for 120 people, the restaurant is comfortable and relaxed and attracts a mature and classy clientele. Table talk is no problem - noise level here is moderate.
