1868, the year of establishment, oozes from the woodwork of this dark, downtown steak house. Cordial, mustachioed servers move through antique, gaslight-era rooms and present patrons with enormous portions of prime rib, porterhouse steak, and lobster. For aficionados, there is a pricey, 10-ounce sirloin of Wagyu beef imported from Japan. The menu also offers salmon, swordfish, and other fish entrees. For patrons with hearty appetites, there are first courses of baked clams, marinated portobello mushrooms, and jumbo-shrimp cocktail; for dessert, you won`t be able to turn down the homemade cheesecake.
If you try out Old Homestead, you`ll find a place that focuses on preparing an American menu where people frequently get steaks.
Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner.
Ways to Pay: Cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diners Club and Carte Blanche
