The facade of white, zigzagged windowpanes reflects the zigzag configuration of tables and lop-sided decor inside. It`s almost like an upscale diner, but with far more varied food: Chesapeake Bay crabcakes, potato pancakes with tobiko caviar and crème fraîche, grilled chicken with lime and coriander, grilled salmon with citrus fruit and beet vinaigrette, as well as sandwiches and burgers. After 6:00 p.m. even a few Chinese items are offered, such as chopped shrimp and chicken with tree ear mushrooms, or shrimp and chicken with yellow curry noodles. The wine list holds pleasing French and American choices, and special wines are featured daily.
If you try out Noho Star, you`ll find a place that offers American and Chinese cooking. Expect the average entrée to cost between $12 and $20, and you should generally go dressed casual.
