You can`t see the dining rooms from the street, but this midtown Japanese restaurant is buzzing with business, especially at lunch time. Regulars love the teriyaki, broiled salmon, shrimp and vegetable tempura, and noodles with tempura in soup. Also popular is the sushi, and shabu-shabu, thinly sliced beef with vegetables cooked at your table. Authentic Japanese dinners are available for connoisseurs (reserve ahead). There is a pre-theater menu, and a "free lunch" card deal: after nine lunches, the tenth is on the house. Soft-yellow walls, beige and blond-wood furniture, and good lighting give the rooms a sunny feel.
You`ll find that Nakagawa dishes up Japanese meals. Expect the average entrée to cost between $8 and $12.
