A little over a year old, this cheerful Greek taverna displays the day`s catch on ice. After charcoal-grilling it, they simply garnish it with virgin olive oil and lemon-herb sauce. There are cool island appetizer picks like tzatziki (yogurt-cucumber-garlic dip), tender octopus, tangy taramosalata, and other regional Greek favorites like homemade spinach pie, and chicken and lamb kebabs. It`s fresh, healthy, summer-time food, and the Mediterranean blue-and-white dining room with colorful paintings and pottery will make you want to hop on a plane over there.
If you go to Meltemi, you`ll find an upscale establishment that serves an American fare dominated by seafood. Expect the average entrée to cost $12 to $20, and most patrons dress casual.
