Not as expensive and every bit as good as Le Colonial or Indochine, Brian Bui`s pretty and simply designed Vietnamese restaurant offers a country-style stir-fried calamari with salt and pepper that`s so good you just might have to get a second order. Crispy shrimp rolls are celestial, as is the red snapper with ginger and scallions or lemongrass sauce. A soup of chicken and crab meat with asparagus is intensely rich, and grilled sliced pork chops marinated in garlic and lemongrass are succulent. Slight alterations occur seasonally, and it`s frequented by local artists and gallery people.
Mekong Corporation dishes up Vietnamese dishes. Expect the average entrée to cost between $8 and $12, and visitors are quite appropriate dressing casual.
