Famed chef Matthew Kenney`s eponymously named restaurant is highly rated for cuisine with a style that creatively draws from global influences. His spring menu includes Moroccan-spiced crab cakes with coriander dressing, bitter greens with Cabrales blue cheese and fig toast, risotto with sweet peppers, asparagus and thyme flowers, roasted salmon with yellowfoot chanterelles, and Sicilian duck with almonds, dates and olives. The Casablanca-style, high-ceilinged room with slowly revolving fans is stunning and immaculate, and to keep it from feeling too sterile there are homey touches like baskets of apples and pears.
With culinary expertise focused on Mediterranean dishes, this is a fine dining restaurant. Expect the average entrée to cost $20 to $30, and you`ll be appropriate if dressed casual.
Atmosphere: The establishment has an eclectic and contemporary décor. The interior is enhanced by flowers and plants. There are walls covered with photos. With seating for 80 people, the facility has an exotic atmosphere -- a favorite for professionals after work.
More Reasons to Go: Matthew`s is appropriate (if not ideal) for anniversaries and other romantic evenings.
Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner. There`s a Sunday brunch for $25.00 per person.
