
Located in a warm and quaint little townhouse with only 15 tables, this restaurant attracts a serious Upper East Side clientele that knows to make a reservation a couple of weeks in advance. Wayne Nish is the chef and proprietor, serving eclectic specialties like seared tuna in sesame-seed crust, venison salad with quinoa pilaf and Chinese black beans, five-spice salmon with wild mushrooms, grilled Long Island duck with Turkish figs and tamarind sauce, and roast rack of Colorado lamb with Isr`li couscous. The warm walnut tart with hazelnut ice cream wins the dessert prize. (Prix-fixe menus: seasonal, $59; four-course tasting, $70; seven-course tasting, $85.)
Located in small town house, this is a fine dining restaurant. The restaurant serves guests an American and international fare. Expect the average entrée to cost over $40, and there`s a prix-fixe menu at $68 per person.
Atmosphere: March. The restaurant has an elegant and luxurious décor. The interior is enhanced by a garden, and the lighting is soft. The fireplace adds to the atmosphere and mood here. With seating for 45 people, the restaurant is formal and romantic.
