The ambiance here is tranquil, with a series of rooms, both public and private, featuring attractive stone-cupped chandeliers, commodious round booths, and a china closet filled with antiques. Formerly known as Beijing Duck House, they`ve hung onto their clientele because of their Peking duck specialty, but other items are done well, too: lute-shaped prawns; steamed dumplings; fried spare ribs with honey; orange chicken; spicy dry shredded beef; and homemade noodles sauteed with beef, vegetables or shrimp. The General Tso`s Chicken, that old reliable, is particularly good.
