Lombardi`s calls itself the great-grandfather of American pizza. As America`s first pizzeria, and a restaurant that still serves some of New York City`s best, it have earned the title. In its tiled pizza oven, dating back to 1905, they cook all the standard varieties of pizza, as well as their signature "fresh clam pie," topped with hand-shucked top-neck clams. The mesclun salad is also first rate. Furnished with the requisite red checked tablecloths, frescoes on the walls, and a deck for garden dining, Lombardi`s atmosphere is as pizza-parlor as it gets.
Lombardi`s is a restaurant that serves you Italian and is most sought for their pizza. Expect the average entrée to cost $12 to $20.
