Despite a spattered blue awning that¦s seen better days, this French country-style retreat is rated as one of the best bistros in the city. Whitewashed walls, a grandfather clock and wildflower bouquets liven the room, and to eat there¦s a broccoli mousse in a light lemon butter sauce, a cassoulette of snails with a cream of tomato and basil sauce, Norwegian salmon on a bed of braised fennel, paired with couscous, a shell steak in green peppercorn sauce, and lean slices of lamb grilled with sprigs of rosemary. Owner/brothers Alain and Patrick Laurent started it 14 years ago, and especially rely on whatever¦s fresh and seasonal.
This fine dining establishment brings patrons a French fare. Expect to pay over $20 per person.
