A Village place that`s been around forever, Knickerbocker has the classic feel of an old steakhouse, with its open room done in dark wood and whimsical antique New York posters. Live jazz is performed Wednesday through Sunday nights, but devotees come for the food, too. The T-bone steaks, for one to four people, are famous. Other recommended dishes include old-fashioned shrimp cocktail; Maryland crab cakes; and wild striped bass with potato cakes, braised leeks, and tomato confit.
Knickerbocker Grill is an upscale restaurant that prepares its guests an American cuisine where patrons tend to favor steaks. Expect the average entrée to cost $12 to $20, and you`ll be fine if dressed casual.
