A ruthless INS sweep deported the excellent Japanese kaiseki chef of Katana. Rather than try to fill his shoes, owner Brad Kelley (of Kelley & Ping) closed down and reopened as Bop, a pretty and precious Korean restaurant with a mamasan behind the counter. Seven varieties of rice-based bibimbop come warm (in a wooden bowl) or crispy (in a hot stone bowl). Steamed dumplings, three types of kimchee, and hand rolls with avocado, spinach and pickled daikon in seaweed are light, lovely starters.
Stop in Katana for a restaurant that serves up a Korean cuisine.
Eating & Drinking: Open for dinner. Both beer and wine are served.
Ways to Pay: Cash, MasterCard, Visa and American Express
Hours of Operation: Closed on Sundays
