No expense was spared in the design of this opulent bistro, housed on two levels of the prettiest townhouse you ever saw. Despite its chicness there`s almost a homey feel, with smooth cherry banquettes, colorful, whimsical paintings, and artistically carved glass partitions. Jean-Georges Vongerichten made this a hot destination point from the beginning, with a goat cheese and potato terrine, shrimp dusted with orange zest, artichoke and basil, tuna pounded with mariniere of vegetables and rice crackers, slowly baked salmon with truffled mashed potatoes, black bass with celery juice, and chicken roasted with ginger, green olives and coriander juice.
This upscale restaurant focuses on French. Expect the average entrée to cost from $20 to $30, and people generally dress casual, but fashionable.

Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner. You`ll find that there is an excellent wine list.
Notable Mention: One of New York`s better restaurants.
