Slightly more formal than his second restaurant, Caffe Lure, but with equally modest prices, Jean Claude Iacovelli, and his chef, William Prunty, have transformed this storefront into a chic, animated bistro serving up fine, fresh, French-inspired cuisine. The menu used to change every two days, but now there are seasonal alterations. Moroccan-spiced squid with pear puree, cherries and tomato oil, grilled New York State foie gras with glazed sweet potatoes, leeks and Sauterne sauce, arborio-crusted skate with artichoke ragout, Atlantic salmon aupoivre, and roast Cornish game hen with herb risotto, garlic spinach and wild mushroom truffle vinaigrette are all sure-fire dishes.
If you go to Jean Claude, you`ll find a bistro that offers French and American. Expect the average entrée to cost between $12 and $20, and go dressed casual.
