It`s rather common to spot celebrity faces in this rustic Tuscan farmhouse setting, whose owners also have Bar Six and Periyali under their belts. Antonio Cinardi`s most exalted dishes are grilled calamari, risotto with fresh spinach and mint, a pounded, breaded, pan-sautTed veal chop, and papardelle alla buttera, a special concoction of crumbled hot and sweet sausage, cream, garden peas and essence of tomato. Enticing antipasti and desserts are laid out on a table, with the apple cake and the pear tart with almond custard being the most irresistible. Al fresco dining out front is quiet and inviting.
Focusing on an Italian fare, this is an upscale restaurant. Expect the average entrée to cost from $20 to $30, and you`ll be fine if dressed casual, but fashionable.
Atmosphere: The restaurant has an elegant décor. The lighting is by the glow of candle flame. The establishment is spacious with seating for 150 people. It is romantic and relaxed and frequented by professionals and couples.
More Reasons to Go: Il Cantinori is appropriate (if not ideal) for anniversaries and other romantic evenings.
Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner.
Notable Mention: One of New York`s better restaurants.
