One of the most beloved places in the West Village, its cramped space is expanded by a year-round outdoor garden that`s kept warm by lamp heaters. Once you get through the narrow doors and snuggle into a table, order the roasted root vegetable salad, the grilled chicken sausages with pineapple ambrosia, the pan-seared salmon with cracked wheat and eggplant caviar, or the grilled New York State trout with an artichoke pancake and garlic greens. Chef David Page has a devoted following, and brunch is especially agreeable, with wonderful egg dishes, French toast and cereal. Home`s exalted ketchup is $5 a pint.
If you go to Home, you`ll find a place that dishes up a new American cuisine. Expect the average entrée to cost from $12 to $20, and you should typically go dressed casual.
Atmosphere: The place has a romantic atmosphere.
More Reasons to Go: Home is great for anniversaries and other romantic evenings. When weather permits, enjoy outdoor seating.
Eating & Drinking: Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There`s a Sunday brunch for $5-12 per person.Wine is served.
Details to Note: Reservations are suggested. Smoking is permitted in smoking areas.
Ways to Pay: Cash and American Express
