The Helmand, Boston`s only Afghan restaurant, is the outgrowth of another Helmand in San Francisco. Dishes include lamb and chicken kebabs, delicate Aushak dumplings filled with leeks and amply seasoned vegetarian sautes. The bright interior showcases colorful rugs, a bread oven and a working fireplace.
Visit Helmand and you`ll get a place that serves you an Afghan cuisine. Expect the average entrée to cost in the range of $12 to $20, and you`ll be fine if dressed casual.
