A smart and sunny Mediterranean feel pervades this spare townhouse, whose name means `sunflower.` Daniel Van Etten is the handsome chef who devised the regional Italian menu, and recommends for antipasti the salad of mushrooms, cured dried beef and cheese, spiedino wrapped up with smoked mozzarella, roast peppers and prosciutto, and sautéed baby artichoke with melted cheese. For pastas it`s orecchiette with zucchini and eggplant , cavatelli with beans and mussels, and a traditional Sardinian pasta with mushrooms and sage. Then go for the farm-raised rabbit with polenta or the veal with tomatoes, capers and pâté of black olives.
