French Roast is more than just a bistro. Chef John Lee has created a menu filled with culinary gems, and he is daring enough to serve dishes like grilled calf`s liver and beef bones with marrow and toast. It`s a cool place for breakfast or a late-night snack (open 24 hours). Although the repertoire is primarily French, you can get C`sar salad with grilled chicken, grilled portobello mushrooms, and avocado and bleu cheese on seven-grain bread. The decor resembles a Paris flea market, and the crowd that gathers at the mismatched tables is correspondingly interesting and motley.
This bistro serves French cooking. Expect to pay between $12 and $20 per person.
