The queen of the meatpacking district is this retro diner, delivering fantastic French bistro food nearly 24 hours a day (they close at 5 a.m. on weekdays and don`t at all on weekends). The staff is exuberant and run the place with flair, with a board behind the counter offering club listings, favorite movies and a weather report. The prix fixe deluxe dinner is $17.95, and $15.95 before 7:30 p.m. Sandwiches, salads, meat and cheese plates, vegetarian couscous, a half chicken with herbs, sirloin steak au poivre, and the pork chop or fish du jour are recommended. A children`s menu is also available.
