Red and yellow banners sail overhead. Circus figures (monkeys, jugglers, a flame-eater), whimsically sculpted in scrap metal, accompany the reveling guests. The ambiance is fun and decidedly unstuffy at Mario, Marco, and Mauro Maccioni`s (the sons of Le Cirque m`stro, Sirio Maccioni) midtown restaurant. The menu features dishes inspired and approved by Egidiana, the Maccionis` mother: thirty-vegetable soup, gnocchi with beef and porcini mushroom ragu, stewed tripe with Parmesan, and grilled yellowfin with olive-crushed potatoes.
Circo is a fine dining establishment that specializes in an Italian menu.
