While Ligurian cuisine is downright obscure compared to the profusion of Tuscan restaurants, it is getting more recognition and gaining trendiness in New York and San Francisco. Cinque Terre is an elegant spot to experience it, where service is attentive and the lemon-yellow interior is filled with attractive midtown diners. Acoustics could be improved but not the food: luscious seafood salad, trenette with pesto, and herb-dusted roasted halibut with balsamic reduction. The Northern Italian wine list is stupendous.
This eatery serves up Italian cooking. Expect the average entrée to cost roughly $12 to $20, and you`ll be appropriate if dressed casual.
