Chef and owner Christer Larsson has created a midtown Scandinavian retreat that is, simply, delightful. One room is rustic, with lodge furniture and a working stone fireplace. Another is mod, its decor characterized by clean lines and splashes of brilliant color. Larsson`s forte is salmon, which he prepares in every way imaginable -- baked on an oak board, smoked, and tandoori-style, to give a few examples. Other entrees might include grilled Amish chicken, potato-crusted snapper with celery-root puree and Cabernet sauce, and minute steak with caramelized shallots. To begin the meal, there is a fantastic smorgasbord of appetizers.
With culinary expertise focused on Scandinavian, this is an upscale restaurant. Expect the average entrée to cost between $20 and $30, and there`s a prix-fixe menu. Plan to dress casual, but fashionable.
Atmosphere: The restaurant has a colonial style décor. There are hardwood floors, and the fireplace adds to the atmosphere and mood here. The restaurant has three dining rooms with seating for 150 people. It has a warm atmosphere and a favorite among couples.
