If you don`t reserve you can expect up to a two-hour wait at this perpetually popular midtown Italian supper club. It`s a handsome, caramel-toned Frank Sinatra sort of place, hung with medieval chandeliers and old photos, and filled with what can be a deafening roar. The family-size portions require an army of eaters: fried zucchini, chicken scarpariello, and shrimp fra diavolo are favorites with everybody, and garlic is generously employed. There`s also a fun pre- and post-theater drinking crowd seated at the commodious bar.
Serving an Italian cuisine, this is a family theme restaurant. Expect the average entrée to cost roughly $12 to $20, and there`s a prix-fixe menu.
Atmosphere: The restaurant has a traditional and original Italian neighborhood feel. The interior is enhanced by a neat memorabelia collection, and the lighting is moderate. Ceiling fans compliment the restaurant`s style, and this is a white tableclothe restaurant. The restaurant is spacious. It is crowded and energetic and patroned by all kinds of people. Table talk requires you to speak up a bit here.
Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner. There is also a prix-fixe menu available.Alcohol is served, and you`ll find that there is an adequate wine selection.
Details to Note: Reservations are suggested. Smoking is allowed at the bar. The place stays open late.
Ways to Pay: Cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Diners Club
