A low-ceilinged, rather elegant basement space done in deep reds and purples, with pristine, solicitous service and rock-bottom prices. The samosas are perfect, the mulligatawny soup delicate and delicious, and the raita vibrantly flavorful. Chana bhajee with poori is almost a meal in itself, and the main dishes, such as chicken dhansak and chicken tikka masala are substantial enough for two. Brown rice is available, as well as assorted chutneys, and there`s live, evocative Indian music performed in the pillowed window.
