Don`t wear perfume to this beautiful French country restaurant or you may clash with the overwhelming fragrance of fresh flowers flowing everywhere. In the shadow of the monolithic 59th Street Bridge, Antoine Bouterin (formerly of Le Perigord) opened this warm, homey place. Subtle specialties from Provence include pate with fresh onion jam, grandmere`s pistou soup, scrod and poached spring vegetables in garlic mayonnaise, and old-fashioned lamb stew that`s cooked for seven hours.
Focusing on a French menu, this is a fine dining restaurant. Expect the average entrée to cost in the range of $20 to $30, and people are most appropriate to dress formal -- jacket is required.
Atmosphere: You`ll be able to take in the city and skyline view from many seats at this establishment. The restaurant has an elegant country style décor. The interior is enhanced by flowers and plants, and the lighting is soft. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable and relaxed and patroned by all kinds of people.
More Reasons to Go: Bouterin is appropriate (if not ideal) for anniversaries and other romantic evenings.
Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner.A full selection of alcoholic beverages are served. You`ll find that there a seated bar inside.
Details to Note: Reservations are required. Smoking is permitted in smoking areas.
