An instant winner when it opened early in the summer of 1996, Stephen Hanson`s sophisticated seafood palace gave people a reason to stay in the city instead of tooling out to the overcrowded Hamptons. Housed in a lofty former bank building, there`s a raw bar at the back of the multilevel dining room and attractive outdoor balcony seating. A tray of iced oysters is a must.
