Although it`s not really the genuine article, this grand dame, which opened over 30 years ago, was one of the first to introduce Japanese cuisine to New York. It`s dark, sleek, and perfect for corporate parties, with samurai chefs providing entertainment by preparing everything on the inlaid hibachis at each table. Specialties include chateaubriand with garlic butter; big T-bones; and a combo of lobster tail, scallops, and shrimp. Entree prices include Japanese onion soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, hibachi vegetables, rice, tea, and ice cream.
Benihana concentrates on a Japanese menu. Expect the average entrée to cost between $12 and $20, and dress casual.

More Reasons to Go: Benihana is great for private parties.
