A vibrant uptown restaurant with a downtown feel, Bella Blu attracts a stylish set of media moguls, actors (Sam Shepard is a regular) and various other movers and shakers. The decor resembles an oversized hand-painted Italian plate, completed with bronze light fixtures shaped like Roman heads, and a broad skylight in the terra-cotta ceiling. The rustic Italian menu features meat ravioli with sage and pancetta; seafood risotto; and spectacularly presented whole roasted fish of the day.
Serving new Italian and is most sought for their pizza, this is an upscale restaurant. Expect the average entrée to cost over $20, and plan to fit the scene by dressing casual.
Atmosphere: enhanced by oil paintings, and the lighting is warm. Fountains, in general, are considered graceful -- here complimenting the overall décor. With seating for 70 people, the restaurant is warm and relaxed and attracts an intellectual crowd.
More Reasons to Go: There is background music while you dine.
