For decades, Harvard denizens have gone to Bartley`s for comfort food: thick burgers with a zillion toppings, a Nixon-era "Cover Up" pita (don`t ask), salads, meatloaf with real mashed potatoes, lime rickies, and rice pudding. The postered walls are as cluttered as a grad student`s carrel. The sidewalk tables are no less tightly packed.
This place dishes up American dishes emphasizing burgers. Expect the average entrée to cost $8 to $12, and people are quite appropriate when dressed casual.
Atmosphere: The restaurant is comfortable and lively and pulls in a college crowd. Table talk is challenging here - you may find yourself shouting.
