Neapolitan cuisine at its best, frequented since 1950 by actors, artists and politicians. Owner and chef Emilio Vitolo, born in Naples, is the godson of the original Ballato family, and his manager, Rosario, a gregarious impresario who makes everyone feel as if they belong. Linguine with freshly shucked littleneck and cherrystone clams is phenomenal, as is the rigatoni alla vodka, and seafood abbondanza marechiaro, a mixture of shrimp, clams and calamari on linguine. Devotees drive in from out of state or fly in from Europe, and it`s hard to pass up the homemade Italian cheesecake and tiramisu. There are specially priced 3-course pre-theater dinners, and late-night 2-course pasta dinners after 9 p.m.
Here you`ll find a restaurant that focuses on Italian. Expect to pay for the most part in the range of $12 to $20 per person.
