Like "Dangerous Liaisons" in a pulsing disco, this Japanese restaurant has seductively draped curtains, black walls and tables, glittery, 80s-style art and a revolving disco ball. The wafer-thin Asian staff is dressed for clubbing, and the food is better than you`d think, even with names like tuna revenge, dynamite, tigers eye, panic roll, happy roll, and popeye roll. There are healthful, brothy vegetable dishes, soft shell crab tempura, and chicken or seafood katsu--deep-fried morsels with luscious stuffings. And where else can you find a flaming tempura Alaska for dessert?
Visiting Avenue A, you`ll find a restaurant that serves guests a Japanese cuisine especially known for sushi. Expect the average entrée to cost $8 to $12, and guests typically dress casual.
