Insanely busy at brunch, for a more leisurely experience try this fine country tea house at lunch or dinner, when there`s an enormous chicken pot pie, lamb stew, linguine with seafood, and bourbon-glazed baked ham. Owner Craig Bero`s mother Charlotte bakes homey things like banana cream pie, butterscotch meringue pie, angel food cake and fruit scones. The daily $12.50 high tea gives you a choice of loose leaf tea (complete with china cup and strainer), scones, finger sandwiches and apple crisp--served from 3-7 p.m. weekdays and 4-7 p.m. weekends. Consistent quality, good sherries and ports, antique tables and fishermen`s equipage add to the appeal.
Visit Angler`s And Writers and you`ll get a restaurant that cooks up a country Continental and American cuisine. Expect the average entrée to cost in the range of $8 to $12, and overall, patrons dress casual.
