Best known for their steaks, sandwiches, ``tea-cup`` bread, and gigantic baked potatoes, this is a bar & grille. The restaurant offers a traditional American menu with a menu based largely on sandwiches and steaks. Expect the average entrée to cost roughly $12 to $20, and you should for the most part go dressed casual.

Atmosphere: Sir Walters Public House has been locally owned and operated in the same location since 1984. To accomodate its growing clientele, the location has been expanded twice to over 5,000 sq. feet of dining space.

The place has an eclectic wood finished décor. The interior is accented by warm tones, and the lighting is warm. Classic brick completes the restaurants overall style.

The restaurant has three dining rooms with seating for 200 people. It is comfortable and relaxed and frequented by professionals and couples. Table talk is no problem - noise level here is moderate.

More Reasons to Go: It`s common to gather and watch sports events, and there is background music while you dine. And, for your viewing pleasure, there`s a large screen television to watch. Sir Walters Public House is great for entertaining clients, birthdays, anniversaries, other romantic evenings, groups and private parties; also, the place is often frequented prior the theatre.

Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner. The menu here at Sir Walters Public House is fairly stable, changing only occasionally. Some of the more popular menu items include: Black Angus steaks, prime rib, giant breaded tenderloins, burgers, fettuccini, and the colossal 5-layer carrot cake. Click for a sample menu.

A full selection of alcoholic beverages are served, and you`ll find that there is an adequate wine selection. In addition, the eatery has a seated bar inside.

Of Interest: According to Indianapolis Star food critic, A.L. Friedman, ``Sir Walters` filet is as good as any I`ve tasted.``

Details to Note: Reservations are necessary for groups. Carryout is available. Catering for various events can be arranged (call for details & quotes). Smoking is permitted in smoking areas. Entrances and walkways are wheelchair friendly. It should be noted that this is an adult oriented place. The place stays open late. Parking has been arranged for customers.
