Cafe Lylla

2114 Green Hills Village Drive
Nashville, Tennessee 37215
ph: 615.297.5669

Best known for Crab Cakes, Hazlenut Rack of Lamb and Creme Caramel ( and for superb fresh fish specials), this is an upscale café. The restaurant focuses its culinary expertise on a contemporary Continental, American and variety of other cuisines where it`s common to order vegetarian meals. Expect the average entrée to cost for the most part in the range of $12 to $20, and go dressed business casual.

Atmosphere: You`ll be able to take in the city and skyline view from many seats at this establishment. The restaurant`s overall structure was influenced by European architecture. The restaurant has a contemporary and elegant European style décor with a jazz theme. The interior is accented by warm tones, enhanced by displayed works by local artists and flowers and plants, and the lighting is soft. Exposed brick is a striking feature at this restaurant, and tables are covered with linen tableclothes.

The restaurant is small with seating for 80 people, and is charming and romantic and frequented by a prestigious, well-off and well-known crowd. Table talk is no problem here - noise level is unobtrusive.

More Reasons to Go: The jazz is a great part of your dining experience at this restaurant. Cafe Lylla is appropriate (if not ideal) for entertaining clients, birthdays, anniversaries, other romantic evenings, groups and private parties; also, the restaurant is often frequented prior the theatre. When weather permits, enjoy seating outside on the patio.

Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner. There`s a Sunday brunch for $8-$12 per person.A full selection of alcoholic beverages are served, and you`ll find that there is a superb wine list with vintage options.

About the Chef: Chef Owner Sue Miller is a graduate of C.I.A. Hyde Park. Executive Chef Michael DeChirico is a graduate of Johnson and Wales. Chef Miller has a more contemporary style, while Chef DeChirico has an excellent handle on all things classical. This makes for a well balanced menu with interesting daily interpretations. The kithchen staff is always prepared to accomodate any special orders.
