Balthazar

80 Spring Street
New York, New York 10012
ph: 212.965.1414

You can feel the exhilaration as soon as you enter this bustling French brasserie which caters to a high quotient of luminaries and assorted fashion police. Keith McNally`s golden touch has made Balthazar the downtown restaurant of the moment, just as his Odeon once was. The setting is vintage Montparnasse and the food masterful: duck shepherd`s pie, steak au poivre, and fabulous plat du jours at lunch and dinner. The adjacent boulangerie is fabulous, serving tasty sandwiches, perfect pain au chocolat, and Valrhona chocolate bread. Dishing up French cooking, this is a bistro. Expect the average entrée to cost $20 to $30.

Atmosphere: The restaurant has an authentic European style décor. Classic marble subtley enhances the overall visual effect. The place has a charming atmosphere -- patroned by all kinds of people.

More Reasons to Go: Balthazar is great for entertaining clients, anniversaries and other romantic evenings.

Eating & Drinking: Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You`ll find that there is a good selection of wines.
