New to the Buckhead area, Chequers brings in seafood from all over the world. It feels rather like an upscale Houlihan`s with its appeal to big business guys with corporate appetites, making deals over drinks, hitting the expense accounts, all that. Likewise Chequers has pretty loud music (perhaps for covering the bigger deal-making), a full bar, lobster and crab and shark and mahi-mahi. It`s a happening place.
Chequer`s Monarch is a bar & grille that serves up an American menu where patrons tend to favor pasta and seafood. Expect the average entrée to cost roughly $8 to $12, and dress up -- on the nicer side.
