Down a mosaic staircase, this subterranean jazz space (below Merlot and opposite Lincoln Center) is lined with oddly shaped banquettes, tentacle-like light fixtures and long tables positioned for viewing the stage. Iridium features two shows nightly and a French-American menu similar to Merlot`s: portobello pizza with mozzarella and prosciutto; surf and turf; and herb-roasted cod with lardons and red wine sauce. Chocolate fondue for two is a treat, served with strawberries, biscotti and assorted cookies.
Here you`ll find an upscale restaurant that prepares its guests an American menu. Expect the average entrée to cost between $20 and $30, and you`ll be fine if dressed casual, but fashionable.
Atmosphere: The restaurant has two dining rooms.
Eating & Drinking: Open for dinner. There`s a Sunday brunch for $14.95 per person.
Details to Note: Reservations are suggested.
Ways to Pay: Cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diners Club and Discover
