The latest brainchild of former Vertigo star chef Marc Lusardi, Yabbie`s is a restaurant for the Nineties. The dining room is well appointed, with comfy banquettes along the wall, an oyster bar as you enter, and wine bar lit from below and through beveled blue glass. The menu is almost entirely fish, and the service, while hesitant, is very pleasant and helpful. Start with the gravlax with fennel salad, or choose from the daily selection of oysters. Great entrees include a porcini-seared seabass, peppered and grilled ahi tuna, or grilled sailfish. The tiled floor means dining can be a little on the loud side, making for comfortable, but not overly intimate.
Offering an American cuisine where it`s common to order seafood, this is an upscale restaurant. Expect the average entrée to cost $12 to $20, and go dressed casual.
Atmosphere: The restaurant has an elegant décor. The interior is enhanced by murals, and the lighting is moderate. The establishment is spacious. It is charming and relaxed and patroned by all kinds of people.
Eating & Drinking: Open for dinner.
Details to Note: Reservations are accepted. Parking has been arranged for customers.
Ways to Pay: Cash, MasterCard and Visa
