Though the El roaring overhead and the loft-like space with iron fixtures give Tuttaposto a decidedly urban feel, the cuisine sends you to the shores of the Mediterranean. The menu features dishes from every corner of that sea (Greece, Spain, and Portugal are just as well represented as Italy and Morocco). Tuna tagliata is a favorite: sashimi-quality tuna, lightly grilled and sliced thin, served on a bed of arugula and smoked tomato and dressed with olive oil, rosemary, and peppercorns. The Moroccan vegetables are also excellent: an assortment of vegetables are marinated in a sweet and spicy sauce, roasted, served over couscous, and topped with harissa. The pan-Mediterranean wine list includes some unusual selections from Greece, Portugal and Isr`l.
This place specializes in a Mediterranean menu. Expect to pay from $20 to $30 per person.
