With Spago Palo Alto, Wolfgang Puck again taps into the motherlode of status dining. Where others with impressive credentials have failed, Puck packs in the Peninsula digerati and has them posturing for the best tables. Adam Tihany ingeniously designed the restaurant, private room and Pavilion (a cafe featuring signature pizzas) in brilliant colors to be both casual and elegant. Feel free to wear jeans while you savor your Chinese duck with candied kumquats. Just make sure there is plenty of room on your credit card.
This upscale restaurant prepares its guests a European and Californian menu. Expect the average entrée to cost $20 to $30, and people are quite appropriate dressing casual, but fashionable.
