Chef Chris Majer has moved on to other ventures, but Splendido remains one of the best (and most overlooked) restaurants in the city. Decorated by Pat "Mr. Opulent" Kuleto, the surroundings are pure Mediterranean, and the service is polished and friendly. The kitchen, now headed by chef Giovanni Perticone, turns out wonderful crispy crab cake, delicious wild mushroom and chive risotto made with borlotti beans and taleggio cheese, and the most popular entree, seared, peppered tuna.
Stop in Splendido`s for a restaurant that serves guests a Mediterranean and Italian fare. Expect the average entrée to cost over $20.
