A neighborhood restaurant that doesn`t take reservations, The Slow Club, with its flickering votives and monochrome design, is dark, moody, and incredibly cool. Even if you`ve had to wait for a table, the food will lure you back. Chef Sharon Ardiana has spawned many imitators, and after trying her creations -- polenta with asiago cheese, mussels in white wine and scallions, a wonderful monkfish on a bed of perfectly cooked risotto -- you`ll see why.
Stop in Slow Club for a place that serves guests Californian and Mediterranean. Expect to pay under $8 per person.
