Formerly a private dining club, Les Nomades has recently opened its two-story brownstone to the public, though the elegant, staid atmosphere remains. It is owned by Mary Beth and Roland Liccioni, who also own the award-winning Le Francais, so you can be sure that a meal here will be executed and served in the most refined manner possible. Chef Christopher Koetke`s superb menu changes daily, but recent menu highlights included ragout of chanterelles and escargot served in a baby pumpkin, roasted halibut with pumpernickel crust and sherry-vinegar sauce, and roasted elk on a bed of roasted carrots and onions.
Best known for pairing duos of seafoods or meats and excellent chocolate desserts, this is a fine dining dinner club. The restaurant serves patrons a contemporary French menu. Expect the average entrée to cost over $30, and there`s a prix-fixe menu at 72.00 per person. Plan to dress formal -- jacket is required.
