Formerly a private dining club, Les Nomades has recently opened its two-story brownstone to the public, though the elegant, staid atmosphere remains. It is owned by Mary Beth and Roland Liccioni, who also own the award-winning Le Francais, so you can be sure that a meal here will be executed and served in the most refined manner possible. Chef Christopher Koetke`s superb menu changes daily, but recent menu highlights included ragout of chanterelles and escargot served in a baby pumpkin, roasted halibut with pumpernickel crust and sherry-vinegar sauce, and roasted elk on a bed of roasted carrots and onions. Best known for pairing duos of seafoods or meats and excellent chocolate desserts, this is a fine dining dinner club. The restaurant serves patrons a contemporary French menu. Expect the average entrée to cost over $30, and there`s a prix-fixe menu at 72.00 per person. Plan to dress formal -- jacket is required.

Atmosphere: The restaurant`s overall architecture was influenced by the Victorian era. The restaurant has an elegant décor. The interior is accented by warm tones, and the lighting is soft. The fireplace adds to the atmosphere and mood here.

The restaurant is small with seating for 80 people, and is luxurious and calm and frequented by an upscale crowd. Table talk is easy - this restaurant is quiet and subdued.

More Reasons to Go: Les Nomades is appropriate (if not ideal) for impressing clients, birthdays, anniversaries, other romantic evenings and private parties.

Eating & Drinking: Open for dinner. There is also a prix-fixe menu available.Alcohol is served, and you`ll find that there is a superb wine list with vintage options. In addition, the restaurant has a lounge inside.
