seakurt13 - You know how badly you feel when someone tries, at great expense to do something nice for you, and it's not good? In fact, it's terrible? Well that's what I felt like at Pontis for Thanksgiving 04. The outlook of the table was lovely. The 3 course prix fixe menu for $35 each was skimpy. The soup bland, the salad small and forgetable. The salmon and turkey done well... but I would have expected more turkey at Denny's for $7.99. The dressings dry, and as bland as the mashed potatoes ( all the gravy seemed to be under rather than on them). There was a bizarre, not quite bad, sweet potato scallop dish. The worst side dish of all was the cranberry relish, which someone ruined with anise or fennel. 1 glass of wine, one coffee, 45 minutes, and $100 later, we were rushed out the door. Don't know what Pontis is like regularly... but avoid it if you're looking for someplace nice during this holiday season.
