In spite of the fact -- or maybe because of it -- that Plump Jack is owned and run by a Getty (Bill) and Gavin Newsom, this restaurant has the best wine prices in town. The food ain`t half bad either. Baby chicken is a favorite, and there`s a daily risotto which rivals any of those eaten in Milan. And the decor... well, it was done by the people who designed the Getty private jet, and they succeeded with the restaurant, filling it with subtle greys and an eye catching chandelier. Still, the socialite crowd can be a bit much, and the attitude at the door is not the friendliest.
Plump Jack Café serves up a Californian and Mediterranean cuisine. Expect to pay $12 to $20 per person.
